About
Sabna Sainudeen is a Senior cyber security professional with exceptional skills and experience into mobile, cloud and IoT security. She currently works for Schneider Electric as Lead Cybersecurity Engineer and is responsible for addressing security of IoT products including Industrial Control Systems and Home automation products. She is an Edison Expert @ Schneider Electric (Title given to selected senior level experts for their outstanding contribution in area of expertise). Sabna constantly believes in two philosophies “Passion is the key in leading and creating excellence” and “Believe passionately in what you do” which explains her love towards her profession. Her passion for Cybersecurity and work over years for various security communities helped her to mold herself as a speaker, trainer and mentor. Prior to Schneider Sabna was associated with Wells Fargo in improving Enterprise application security. She was a mentor and volunteer for Women in Security (WISE) community within Wells Fargo.
Outside of work, she serves non-profit communities who are committed to help cybersecurity professionals and students to bring improvement in their career. She is a member and volunteer in Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS). Determined to play a key role in balancing the gender-disparity in tech, Sabna dedicates her free time to teach young girls about cybersecurity.
What mentoring means to me
- Mentorship is all about “Participate, Contribute, give back and Learn”. Participate ourselves in a journey to help others evolve into their best version. Contribute ourselves to help others succeed in their career. Give back our best self to the community by sharing knowledge. Learn from each other.
- We’re here for a reason. I believe a bit of the reason is to throw little torches out to lead people to help them see their path to reach their goal. I always wished if I had some one to guide me through my career. Now that I have learned how to steer forward in cybersecurity career, I feel it is my responsibility to teach others and give them a helping hand so that they can steer smoothly through their career
- Mentoring is a perfect way to reflect each other. It’s a continuous journey where both mentor and mentee get to learn a lot from each other
