I would like to request a Mentor Spotlight for my mentors Latisha Scarborough and Kim Bailey. These women have been phenomenal mentors to me. These ladies reached out during one of our Mentor & Mentee circles. I posted a note in the chats, looking for some guidance on my journey, and these two have showed up for me in ways I didn’t even think I needed.
Since meeting with these two, I’ve become a CompTIA Security Analytics Professional; passing the CompTIA Security + & CompTIA Security Analytics exam. What I was looking for in my search for mentors were senior cyber security leaders that I can have candid conversations with about their journey in the GRC/ Risk Management space. I am currently interviewing at my top 2 choices, and don’t think this would be possible without these two.
I am truly thank you to the Global Cyber mentoring session. Since joining I was guided on resume assistance, practical job hunt strategies, negotiation tactics, and confidence to overcome imposture syndrome. This is only the beginning of my journey, but I’m elated by my progress and my network of support. I plan on keeping you guys engaged on my journey as things progress. Being a mentee to these two amazing women, has given me a safe space to discuss various topics that I didn’t have access to prior. I would love to see these women highlighted on the Mentors spotlight page for their incredible work.
