What mentoring means to me

  • Give Guidance. When I first started in information technology, I never had a mentor. I hit some bumps along the way, and it took a long time to find what I wanted to do. I know that some who are getting into cybersecurity now need a little guidance. I mentor because I would like to help my mentees avoid some bumps along the way.
  • Giving Back. Sharing knowledge is one thing I like doing. I have learned a lot about cybersecurity over my career, and it’s only right to create some time to give back.
  • Learning. Whenever I am sharing what I know, I am also learning from my mentees. That’s a win-win situation.
