What mentoring means to me

  • It’s important to share my career experiences with others who are entering the field. Everyone’s journey is different, but if I can help someone on a similar path make the transition easier for them, it’s worth gold
  • Many wonderful people help me on my journey. They have taken the time to answer my questions and provide guidance where I needed it. Giving back, or rather paying it forward is the least I can do to show my appreciation for my mentors’ time and generosity
  • Mentoring also gives the mentor and the mentee opportunities to discuss what they are interested in, who each of them truly is. It opens doors to meet and get to know people and discover new ideas. It creates mutually beneficial relationships that can go beyond careers and that is a treasure
